TypeRacer is a great casual party game as well as great for competition in the eSports environment. Using TypeRacer for events it's easy and fun! It's completely free to create your own racetracks and doesn't require an account!
πTypeRacer for Events
There's always that one person in your group that has that insanely loud clacky mechanical keyboard in their mic. They must be a fast typist. Perhaps you too, think you're a pretty fast typist.
Start your very own TypeRacer Racetrack today and challenge your friends and foes, your co-workers in the office, everyone in the eSports center to an online typing challenge! There are no other challenges like it that require you to press almost every key on the keyboard.
π Getting Started
To create your own racetrack, simply click on the purple button that says, "Race your Friends". From there, you can send the invite link to whoever you want to challenge and play with.
Once you have players in your room, simply click on the green "Join Race" button. The race countdown will start when there are 2 or more players in the racetrack. The fastest typist will win the race.
πΈ Different ways to play
As a racetrack creator and event organizor, you can use the racetrack in different ways, the sky is the limit and up to your creativity on how you want to play.
Here are some suggestions that we can offer on how you use your TypeRacer Racetrack.
β οΈ Deathmatch
Grab all your friends and invite them to your racetrack, every typist for themselves. Everyone is able to join the race and compete against everyone. The fastest typist is the winner. This is the standard way to play TypeRacer and how it was designed.
π Team vs. Team
Not an officially supported way to play... but with a few tricks and clever organization, you can make teams of 2 all battle against each other in 1v1 matches.
Prerequisites include: A minimum of 4 players and 2 devices to access the site
How to play: You have 10 players interested in your tournament. You can split them into two teams... Team Red and Team Blue.
Grab 1 member from each team and place them in a TypeRacer Racetrack and make them compete with each other.
After they've both finished the race, record their scores respectively. Then, swap them out for the next team members in line and continue for how many rounds you so desire.
After the # of rounds you have set, add up all of the WPM results to create a total number. The team with the highest total number is the winner.
Round | π Team Red (WPM) | β Team Blue (WPM) |
1 |
89 | 58 |
2 | 67 | 96 |
3 | 101 | 56 |
4 | 57 | 61 |
5 | 66 | 69 |
END | 380 | 340 |
